About the Artist — Michael Lomas

Photography started as a simple curiosity — a way for me to slow down and really see the world in a time when everything moves too fast. Over the years, it grew into a passion that ties together all the things I love: the outdoors, the desert I call home, exploring new places, and telling stories through images.

I’m based in the American Southwest, and the Sonoran Desert shapes almost everything about how I see light, color, and space. My work ranges from wide desert landscapes and rugged backroads to intimate studio portraits and spontaneous street photography. Every place and every moment challenges me to see differently and create with purpose.

Outside the studio, I film Desert Backroads, a travel vlog where I document my journeys through small towns, forgotten places, historic sites, and the quiet roads most people overlook. My photography and my travels inspire each other — one feeding the other.

mlomasphoto is the home for all of this creative exploration. It’s a growing archive of the people, places, and moments that have shaped me, and I’m grateful to share them with you.
